The newly elected Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Southwest Zone, Dr. Isaac Kekemeke, has pledged that the region will deliver the highest number of votes for President Bola Tinubu in the 2027 general elections.
Kekemeke made the declaration on Wednesday during his victory speech at the party’s zonal congress held at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena (formerly Onikan Stadium) in Lagos.
He expressed confidence in the party’s strength across the Southwest, assuring that the APC would win the governorship elections in Osun, Ekiti, and Oyo states in 2027.
He also promised that his leadership team would outperform its previous achievements and work diligently to secure victory for both Tinubu and the APC.
Speaking on behalf of Southwest APC governors, Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu said the peaceful conduct of the congress reflected the region’s political maturity and orderliness, while acknowledging the presence of INEC officials.
Sanwo-Olu commended delegates for their discipline and unity, stating that the congress demonstrated the Southwest’s strength and cohesion as a political bloc aligned with President Tinubu’s leadership.
Earlier, Chairman of the Zonal Congress Committee, Hon. Jide Jimoh, described the Southwest as a hub of progressive politics, noting that the congress followed due process and complied with the 2026 Electoral Act, with contestants affirmed through voice votes.
Officials elected at the congress include Kekemeke as Chairman, alongside Alfred Aluko (Secretary), Ismail Majaro (Legal Adviser ), Lateef Ibirogba (Organizing Secretary), Ayobami Afolabi (Publicity Secretary), Mrs Yetunde Adesanya (Woman Leader), Daramola Adesuyi (Youth Leader), and Dayo Ishola (People Living With Disability), with several top dignitaries, including governors and party leaders from across the region, in attendance.
