Female driver dies in lone Lagos Crash as LASTMA urges caution

The Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) has warned motorists against speeding after a female driver died in a lone crash at Mongoro, inward Ile-Zik, Lagos.

In a statement on Sunday by the spokesperson for the Authority, Adebayo Taofiq, LASTMA said the driver of a Toyota Sienna (LND 162 HB) lost control, veered off the road, and hit a roadside building.

She died instantly in the crash and was the only occupant.

LASTMA officers on patrol responded quickly, secured the scene, and managed traffic to prevent further accidents and congestion. The agency said normal traffic flow was restored shortly after.

Security personnel from the Afonka Police Post also assisted during the operation.

LASTMA General Manager Olalekan Bakare-Oki described the crash as a reminder of the dangers of speeding, urging motorists to obey speed limits and drive carefully.

“No destination is worth the loss of human life,” he said, adding that drivers should ensure their vehicles are in good condition before use.

The agency also expressed condolences to the family of the deceased.
