Such is the case of Shamsudeen Dafang Ahmadu, a young man from the Ron community, a minority ethnic group from Plateau State, Jos, Nigeria, who through perseverance and determination has achieved remarkable feat.

Despite the odds stacked against him, Shamsudeen has graduated with honors from Purdue University Northeast’s Department of Industrial Engineering Technology in the United States.

Hailing from the Ron community, which has a rich cultural heritage and language. Shamsudeen faced numerous challenges that could have easily derailed his aspirations. However, his resilience and passion for learning propelled him forward.

In December 2022, Shamsudeen took a bold step by relocating to the United States with his wife, Mariam Alamu, also a student in another state, to pursue his academic goals. The transition was not without its challenges, but Shamsudeen’s determination and adaptability enabled him to thrive in his new environment.
