2027: South West Won’t Abandon Tinubu for ‘Theatrical Ambition Without Substance’- Lagos APC
The Lagos State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has condemned what it described as a “publicity stunt” by the Gbenga Hashim Solidarity Movement (GHSM), dismissing comments credited to the group on President Bola Tinubu’s administration as baseless and politically motivated.
In a statement issued on Saturday by the party’s spokesperson, Seye Oladejo, the Lagos APC said the GHSM’s remarks—particularly its claim that the South West would not “reward Tinubu’s failure”—were nothing more than a crude exercise in “theatrical politics” by a group lacking both credibility and political relevance.
Oladejo stated that the GHSM and its South-West Coordinator, Alhaji Abass Olaniyi, were merely seeking attention through “press-release bravado,” adding that their intervention was “a desperate attempt to generate headlines for a perennial aspirant with no political structure”.
The party further accused the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) of political bankruptcy, arguing that it had “relied on sentiment and nostalgia rather than competence and delivery.”
He also rejected attempts by the GHSM to disparage President Tinubu’s administration, stressing that the government was already delivering “visible and irreversible progress” across infrastructure, education, agriculture, security, and fiscal reforms.
“Those who trade in selective statistics and currency rhetoric do so because they cannot defend the alternative—a return to waste, arrogance, and mismanagement that nearly crippled Nigeria,” the Lagos APC spokesman added.
Oladejo urged Nigerians to ignore what he called the “empty spectacle of political tourists,” maintaining that voters in 2027 would stand by a president who has provided direction and results.
“The South West will not abandon its own for a project of theatrical ambition without substance,” he concluded.
